Refreshingly Dark
And there you are
And Don’t try too hard
And Don’t look at me cause I’m already starting to fade
And I don’t know what homeostasis is but it sounds like where I am.
Sitting here doing my time
Nine to five is eight to six
Stress is the test
And fear is the way.
The toys sit idle while I sit here and pay
And so at middle My child has gone
Where did he go Just
One year older
A few weeks a year but it’s so hard to find the time
And then change is scary
And the clock ticks 5 days at once
Now I know I am also allergic to time
Each second, hour and day accumulates in the system
The drastic cure is death
It requires no faith and is cheap to do.
And the ones that might remember get more forgetful until you disappear.
And when you wake up there’s no one left to tell how to live their life.
We gladly sign up for a life of toil
And submit to the suburban surrender
